PAL-GHK, also referred to as Palmitoyl Tripeptide-1, has been demonstrated to stimulate genes and effectively rejuvenate cells to a healthier, more youthful condition.

 

GHK has been shown to activate several DNA repair genes and enhance the expression of 14 genes associated with the production of antioxidants.

The “GHK” part represents the peptide sequence glycine-histidine-lysine. This sequence is a small segment of the much larger elastin protein and serves as a powerful stimulant for fibroblasts (the cells responsible for synthesizing collagen, elastin, and other vital proteins in the extracellular matrix of skin, bone, and various connective tissues).

 

Pal-GHK is frequently included in research alongside other short peptides.

 

The GHK portion of Pal-GHK deceives fibroblasts into perceiving that elastin, a prevalent skin protein, has sustained damage. As a result, the fibroblasts are prompted to grow and multiply in order to regenerate what they believe to be the diminished elastin within the skin. In aging animals, fibroblasts often decline in activity and become inactive. Research using animal models suggests that GHK can revitalize fibroblasts, thereby helping to alleviate some typical aging effects on the skin.

 

The Pal component of Pal-GHK serves merely as a delivery mechanism. By attaching this fatty acid to a peptide sequence, enhanced skin and cellular penetration can be achieved in animal models. Essentially, Pal’s role is to facilitate GHK's access to its most beneficial location—the interior of cells deep within the skin.

 

Animal studies have indicated that Pal-GHK protects the skin from numerous effects of aging. Notably, Pal-GHK has been identified as a promoter of collagen and elastin production.

 

It appears to be especially beneficial for restoring lip moisture and fullness in animal models. When combined with other short peptides, Pal-GHK can work synergistically to diminish the visibility of fine lines and wrinkles.
